Audit Requirements 2023

The Parish Council is required to publish the Certificate of Exemption and the Accounting Statements 2022/23 and the Annual Governance Statement 2022/23 which can be found with the information required under the Transparency Code for Smaller Authorities (below).

Audit Requirements 2022

Under the Local Audit and Accountability Act 2014 and the Accounts and Audit Regulations 2015 the Parish Council is required to publish the Annual Governance Statement 2021/2022 and the Accounting Statements 2021/22.  The Parish Council is also required to publish the notice of the conclusion of the audit and the External Auditor's Report and Certificate.  There is no Certificate of Exemption this year as the Parish Council expenditure was over the £25,000 limit for exemption from external audit.

The Parish Council is required to publish the Certificate of Exemption and the Accounting Statements 2017/18 and the Annual Governance Statement 2017/18 which can be found with the information required under the Transparency Code for Smaller Authorities (below).

In the years before 2017/18 the Parish Council was required to publish the Notice of Conclusion of Audit and the External Auditor's Report (below).   The Parish Council was also required to publish the Accounting Statements 2016/17 and the Annual Governance Statement 2016/17 which can be found with the information required under the Transparency Code for Smaller Authorities (see below).

Transparency Code for Smaller Authorities

Under the Transparency Code for Smaller Authorities the Parish Council is required to publish the following information by July 1st each year.   See the Financial Statements for a more detailed statement of the Parish Council's transactions. 

Items of Expenditure over £100

The Parish Council is required to publish details of each individual item of expenditure with a net value (excluding recoverable VAT) of more than £100.  

End of Year Accounts

The required information consists of a copy of the signed Accounting Statements taken from the Parish Council's Annual Governance and Accountability Return, together with an end of year bank reconciliation and explanations of any significant variances (more than 15%) in the Accounting Statements between the relevant year and the previous year.
